Line Graph 考试时应要注意的地方(二)｜IELTS 英文写作攻略秘笈

雅思试写作卷一 ( IELTS Writing Task 1 ) Line Graph

之前，我们谈及如何描述写作卷一中有关线图里走线上升或下跌的状态或走势和介绍了一些描绘走线的常用动词和使用如 increase，decrease，fall 和 rise等这些动词时，香港学生常犯的错误（见上篇）。在今篇，我会再就line graph向考生介绍一些特别走线状况和讲解如何描写这些较特别的走线走势。

图一  Annual Exports of Bottled Wine of Country A 

图一显示Country A 由2000年至2024年的瓶装餐酒的出口情况。因为雅思Writing Task 1的固定问题是这样: Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant，而且考生必需要用不少于150字来描述题目提供的图表内的走线显著趋势或表格内的数字的重点或变化，因此就图一，考生首先应该要概括地描述这个线图的主要资料。

如果题目原是：This graph shows the exports of bottled wine of Country A from 2000 to 2024的话，考生必需找另外一些词汇来取代题目的字眼，或甚至改写(rephrase) 题目句子结构组织。

例句一：

This graph illustrates the bottled wine exports of Country A between 2000 and 2024. 

或例句二：

The graph shows the number of bottles of wine exported by Country A from 2000 to 2024.

以上两句内加上了划线和加粗的便是改写或用了其他字眼的部份。

下一步，考生需要着手仔细描绘图一中的主要走线走势。考生应该留意到，Country A 的瓶装餐酒出口情况在2000 年和 2019年之间，十分波动。我们应该怎样来容形这波动巨大或出现波浪不定的走线？

考生可以使用以下的字眼或句式来描绘在图一中出现的波浪线条：

1/ fluctuate 或 fluctuation 

例句三：

Between 2000 and 2019, Country A\'s bottled wine exports fluctuated. 

例句四：

It can be seen from the graph that Country A saw fluctuations in its bottled wine exports between 2000 and 2019. 

2/ vary 或 variation 

例句五：

As shown in the graph, the annual exports of bottled wine varied between 4 million and 5 million from 2000 to 2019.

例句六：

Between 2000 and 2019, Country A witnessed variations in its wine exports, ranging from 4 million to 5 million bottles per year. 

3/ oscillate

例句七：

The number of bottled wines exported by Country A oscillated between 4 million and 5 million bottles annually between 2000 and 2019. 

在以上例句，考生还可以加上合适的 adverbs ( 副词 ) 。在IELTS写作考试，经常用得着的adverbs包括：

1. substantially ( 大幅 ) 
2. significantly ( 显著地 ) 
3. greatly（大大地 ) 
4. wildly（严重地地 ; 也会解作为疯狂地 ) 
5. considerably（相当地 ) 
6. noticeably（显著地或明显地 ) 

我现在就用 Considerably 这个副词加入例句七：

The quantity of bottled wines exported by Country A oscillated considerably between 4 million and 5 million bottles annually between 2000 and 2019. ( 2000 年至 2019 年间， A 国每年出口的瓶装餐酒数量在 400 万瓶至 500 万瓶之间大幅波动。)
