【英国升学】牛津郡教育资源丰富 学术气息浓厚 公校私校选择多

英国牛津郡（Oxfordshire）可是无人不晓的知名大学城。自从大学学府于十一世纪末出现后，已有约一千年历史的文学底蕴，其牛津大学更是英语世界中最具历史的大学，及为世上第二古老的高等教育学府，拥有崇高的学术文化地位。历年来在牛津大学毕业的学生更是不计其数，当中除包括戴卓尔夫人、贝理雅及卡梅伦等二十六位英国首相，也有三十位其他国家元首及大约五十位诺贝尔奖得主。

牛津郡亦是升学移居热点，除了牛津大学外，坐拥举世知名的圣玛利亚大教堂、哈利波特场景基督书院、购物天堂Westgate Oxford及Bicester Village Outlet。从牛津大学城乘火车到伦敦市中心，直达Paddington站约需四十二分钟，交通十分方便。

笔者认为，环境对于学习尤其重要。牛津大学一直为整个牛津郡注入浓浓的学术气息。除了牛津大学城，郡内还有其他几个主要城市，如北部Banbury、 Bicester、和Chipping Norton；以及南部的Abingdon、Wantage、Didcot、Wallingford 和 Henley-on-Thames。而牛津郡教育资源丰富，区内的中小学校网亦备受追捧，牛津郡周围有很多学校可供选择──郡内共有三百一十六所公立小学、幼儿学校， 其中超过三分之二的获Ofsted评级为Outstanding或Good；备受推崇的公立小学包括：Windrush Valley Primary School、St Andrew’s Church of England Primary School、Cholsey Primary School、Benson Church of England Primary等。

中学方面，牛津郡内共有三十一所公立中学，超过50%（即十六所）被Ofsted评级为Outstanding或Good，包括：Cherwell School、Matthew Arnold School、Cheney School、Burford School、Chipping Norton School。


牛津郡私立学校成绩更突出

公立学校优秀，私立学校更加是出类拔萃。牛津的私校历来在A-Level成绩中名列前茅，许多学生顺利进入牛津剑桥大学。英国国家中学成绩排名表每年计算在 A-Level中获得A*至B级的考试成绩的百分比，以及在GCSE和iGCSE中获得A*和A级以及获得9、8 和 7级成绩的考生的百分比。牛津郡的Magdalen College School在整个英国排名第三，96.1% 的学生在A-Level中获得A*-B；而位于牛津Summertown的Oxford High School排名第十。位于阿宾登（Abingdon）的St.Helen & St.Katherine中学排名第四十一，而邻近的Abingdon School排名第四十四；著名女校Headington School排在第八十七；而牛津的d'Overbroeck's和St Edward's School也进入了前一百五十名；在Banbury的私立学校Tudor Hall School、西牛津郡的Kingham Hill School、Headington的Rye St Antony School和Oxford Sixth Form College也榜上有名。
