Mr Octo is inviting his students to think of some ways to ease the waste rubbish problem in Hong Kong. Let us see what they think we should do.

Just build an incinerator and the problem will be solved. Look at Japan(日本)– they have many incinerators and everything seems to be fine.

We live in a materialistic world and you cannot ask people to stop buying things. It affects the economy, and my father's business as well.

You two are so irresponsible. Building incinerators might eventually be harmful to our city. We should think of something else ...

I like the idea of charging people to pay for the amount of waste they dump. At least people will think twice before they throw things away.

But what about the yellow, blue and brown bins? The government has been encouraging us to separate our waste using these recycle bins.

Yes, the government should try harder to promote the bins before thinking of another solution.

I have a good idea! Let us start to think about how we can decrease the amount of rubbish we produce. We should invite Goodies readers to help us. I will go first:

1. Do not waste food. Only get what you need, not what you want.

2. Think twice whenever you buy something.

3. Think twice whenever you throw things away.

4. Send what you do not need to charity stores, such as the Salvation Army.

5. Carry your own food container when you buy take-away food.

6. When you go to bakeries or McDonald's, do not ask for an extra plastic bag.

7. BYOB – Bring your own bag!
